As we continue our countdown to Homecoming and Reunions Weekend, Oct. 23–25, 2009, the CUA Alumni Association has made it an annual tradition to host online photo albums featuring pictures excerpted from each of our reunions classes' senior yearbooks. This month, we're highlighting the classes of 1984 and 1979. SEE THE RED SOX AT FENWAY WITH CUA

On Friday, July 24, the Boston Red Sox will take the field at Fenway Park and square off against the Baltimore Orioles. The Catholic University of America Alumni Association
has purchased a block of tickets exclusively for our CUA alumni living in the Boston area, and we can't wait to "C.U." there!

MEET THE CUA COACHES IN PHILADELPHIA

On Wednesday, July 29coaches and administrators from Catholic University's Department of Athletics will visit The Field House
(1150 Filbert St., Philadelphia, Pa.) from 6 to 8 p.m. for an informal alumni happy hour to meet and greet our CUA sports fans in the City of Brotherly Love.

There is no door charge to attend this event, so stop by after work to share a drink and hear all sorts of exciting news about CUA's athletic teams! For complete details on this event,

EXPLORE THE EMERALD ISLE WITH THE CUA TRAVEL CLUB

On Dec. 3–7, the CUA Travel Club will return to the Emerald Isle for our third annual Ireland Pub and Shopping Tour. Featuring plenty of food, sight-seeing, shopping and more, this is truly "a vacation as only the Irish could live it," and a great way to explore new places with your old friends!

Homecoming and Reunions Weekend 2009, is just a few short months away, and alumni from all across the country will be returning to campus this October. Bob Talbot, B.A. 1959, will be there to celebrate his 50-year reunion — and he can't wait to "C.U. at Home"!

The first book of poetry, titled "Ode to Adulthood," by Arthienyer L. Fraser, B.A.G.S. 2004, was published by Outskirts Press on Feb. 27, 2009. Ms. Fraser resides in Hyattsville, Md.

Ivelysse Swan Powers, B.A. 2000, and her husband, Michael, welcomed a their first child, Liam Michael, on June 8. Everyone is doing well and enjoying their time together. The family resides in Nesconset, NY.

Erin Harrington Johnson, B.A. 1998, and her husband, Dennis, announce the birth of twin boys, Timothy Charles and Patrick Michael, on June 18. The twins join big sister Caroline, 3. The family resides in Lansdale, Pa.

CUA sweethearts Steve Mariconti, B.A. 2007, and Caitlin Weiss, B.A. 2007, were married on June 20 in Orchard Park, NY.

CUA remembers Mark Anthony Papa, M.Arch. 1970, who passed away suddenly on July 1. Mark was the Architect of Record for the Pentagon 911 Memorial.

CUA sweethearts George Logusch, B.Arch. 2007, and Elizabeth Debrot, B.A. 2007, were married on July 11 in Staunton, Va.

CUA is saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of Desi Deschaine, B.A. 2001. Desi resided in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and worked as the communications director for D.C. Council member Jack Evans.

CUA MUSIC SCHOOL PERFORMS IN TEREZIN

On June 30, Murry Sidlin, dean of Catholic University’s Benjamin T. Rome School of Music and 120 singers, including about 85 CUA students, faculty and alumni, returned for a second time to Terezin, a small town about 45 miles northeast of Prague in what is now the Czech Republic. There, the ensemble performed Sidlin's award-winning concert/drama “Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezín,” the story of the Jewish prisoners who sang in defiance of their Nazi captors.
