FLORIDA ALUMS: WE'LL "C.U." IN PALM BEACH

On Thursday, March 5, from 6 to 8 p.m., CUA Sweet Hearts Brooks Ricca, B.A. 1975, and Sally Ricca, M.A. 1975, invite you to join fellow CUA alumni living in the greater Palm Beach, Fla., area for an evening reception in their home. Say hello to old classmates and meet Very Rev. David M. O'Connell, C.M., president of The Catholic University of America, to learn more about what's going on these days at your alma mater.

This event is free, but registrations are required. To R.s.v.p. today, call 800-288-ALUM (toll-free outside of the Washington, D.C.-area). Registered CUAToday.com users can R.s.v.p. online.

Join us at the new Capitol Visitor Center, within the U.S. Capitol complex, at First Street and East Capitol Street, N.E., to swap business cards, share a drink and network with fellow CUA alums working in and around The Hill and for the federal government.

CAPS HOCKEY vs. NEW YORK ISLANDERS

On Wednesday, April 1, join your fellow CUA alums at Washington D.C.'s Verizon Center (Red Line, Chinatown) at 7 p.m. to root for our hot hometown hockey team, the Washington Capitals, as they square off against the New York Islanders!

We've purchased a block of tickets exclusively for CUA alumni, and we are offering mezzanine-level tickets for just $35 to our CUA alums. To purchase your tickets online today, click here.

Pay no mind to the blurry picture quality in the snapshot above (you know how cell phone cameras can be), because that was the absolute last thing on the mind of CUA alumnus-turned music teacher Ashton Conklin, B.M. 2004, who was treated to a surprise in-classroom visit from Barack Obama. When he's not shaking hands with the President of the United States, Ashton is a full-time music teacher in Washington, D.C.

Have you reconnected with fellow CUA alums or someone else of note in a far-out locale or a neighborhood near you? Let us know! Send your name, degree year, current address, and a photo of you and your CUA friends to cua-alumni@cua.edu.

We've heard of "sticky situations," but this one takes the cake! Are you one of these whipped cream-covered CUA undergrads (or is that shaving cream)? To let us know if you are one of the alums in the picture above, click here.

The first three alums to identify themselves will receive a free CUA T-shirt!

Mark your calendar now so that you can join friends and former classmates for Catholic University’s most exciting weekend of the year!  The 2009 Homecoming and Reunions Weekend will take place Oct. 23-24, 2009.

Did you graduate in 1959, 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999 or 2004? That makes you a member of our Reunions Classes!  Whether it is your 10th, 25th, or 50th reunion, come back home to campus to relive your memories, reminisce with classmates, and create new stories to share with your families and friends!

Attendance at the festivities last year was great; we want it to get even bigger this year! But we can’t do that alone. Your fellow classmates want to hear from you, not only from the alumni office. Please consider being involved as a Homecoming and Reunions Committee member.

To sign up, contact Meghan Comey, associate director of alumni relations, or call 202-319-5608.

On Saturday, April 18, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. CUA hosts "A Cardinal Celebration," The Catholic University of America's Alumni Achievement Awards Luncheon.
