Last month, more than 40 CUA alumni, family members and friends took part in the CUA Travel Club's Ireland Pub and Shopping Reunion Tour, a six-day jaunt across the Emerald Isle filled with shopping, site seeing and — of course — pub-hopping!
Highlights of the tour included visiting the famed Cliffs of Moher, kissing the Blarney Stone, and enjoying plenty of authentic Irish hospitality as we took part in "a vacation as only the Irish could live it."

The results are in! Two months ago, we began a search for globe-trotting alums to let us know just how "far out" from CUA they are these days. We've heard from alums in more than two dozen countries, and we'll be sharing photo postcards from many of these "far out" alums and their exotic locales in the months to come.

One of our "far out" alums is Quinn Eighmey Byrnes, B.A. 1991, who lives in a town called Mons in the French-speaking region of Belgium with her husband and their two children, five-year-old Charlie (in the photo above) and daughter Alice, who is 22 months old. The family has traveled extensively over the European continent, and have visited Italy, Spain, Tunisa, Southern France, the German Alps, Paris and Amsterdam in the past year alone!
Are you a long way from "home?" Let us know! Send your name, degree year, current address, and a photo of you and your loved ones in a "far out" locale to cua-alumni@cua.edu. |
CUA HOCKEY NIGHT: CAPS vs. MAPLE LEAFS
On Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, join your fellow CUA alums at Washington, D.C.'s Verizon Center (formerly the MCI Center) at 7 p.m. to root for the Capitals hockey team as it squares off against the Toronto Maple Leafs!
We've purchased a block of tickets exclusively for CUA alumni, and we are offering mezzanine-level tickets for just $20 to our CUA alums. Spaces are limited (two tickets per alum), so R.s.v.p. today! To save yourself a seat, contact Brandon at romanchok@cua.edu, or call 202-319-5608!
Before the game, join us at 5:30 p.m. at Washington's largest multi-tap brewery, RFD's (810 7th Street N.W.; Red Line: Chinatown), to grab a drink and pick up your tickets. Can't make the pre-game? Don't worry — tickets will be available at will-call after 6:30 p.m.
