Exclusive Offer for CUA Alumni!
From Thursday, Oct. 4, to Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, the CUA Department of Drama presents the John Gay musical, The Beggar's Opera. The Beggar's Opera has had an influence on British stage comedies and on 19th-century British comic opera (notably Gilbert and Sullivan) — but it is above all the ancestor of the modern musical.
For the 2 p.m. matinee performance on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, the Office of Alumni Relations has secured a special admission price for alumni of $5/ticket (limit of 4 tickets per alum; at this price we cannot offer refunds). CUA lecturer Tom Pederson will give a special pre-performance talk at 1 p.m. in the upper lobby of the Hartke Theatre.
To purchase your tickets with a credit card, call the alumni office at 202-319-5608, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. |

Are you living "far out" on the west coast? Perhaps you're reading this newsletter from somewhere north or south of the U.S. borders — or beyond?
We're looking for globe-trotting alums to let us know just how "far out" from CUA they are these days. Are you a long way from "home?" Let us know! Send your name, degree year, and current address to cua-alumni@cua.edu. Do you know of a fellow alum living even farther away from CUA than you do? Forward this message their way to let them know, too! Prizes will be sent to the longest-distance alumni (both in the U.S. and abroad), and their names will be listed in next month's newsletter — just in time for Homecoming and Reunions Weekend 2007. |
