The holidays are here, and the CUA Alumni Association has planned a full schedule of seasonal celebrations in our chapter cities up and down the East Coast. Deck the halls, sing a carol or two, and reconnect with old friends and classmates as we celebrate the Christmas season in CUA style. On Thursday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m., join your fellow CUA alumni and friends in the Boston area at the Commander's Mansion at the Watertown Arsenal (Watertown, Mass.) as we kick off the holidays in high style! 

This annual tradition will feature Christmas carols, holiday cocktails and sumptuous appetizers in this beautifully decorated historic home. For directions or to learn more about this venue, click here.

Join us on Friday, Dec. 4, for the 2009 Annual Christmas Concert for Charity at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. The CUA Symphony Orchestra and CUA Chorus will entertain you in grand style inside the beautiful Great Upper Church.

This year's concert will benefit the Consortium of Catholic Academies, a group of four inner-city Catholic schools dedicated to serving children and families in some of the neediest neighborhoods of Washington, D.C.

The CUA Alumni Association has secured special reserved seating (limit of four seats per R.s.v.p.), and will be hosting an alumni welcome reception in the Basilica executive conference room just prior to the concert.

Kevin Hickson, B.A. 1977, M.F.A. 1981, and his wife, Regina, are a presenting team couple for Worldwide Marriage Encounter and have recently presented weekends in Bayshore, N.Y., and Wappingers Falls, N.Y.

Jeni Smith Stepanek, B.A. 1982, is releasing a new book, Messenger: The Legacy of Mattie J.T. Stepanek and Heartsongs, about her son, the late child poet and peace activist Mattie J.T. Stepanek.

Camille Quiros Solberg, B.A. 1989, was recently elected to the U.S. Council for Puerto Rico Statehood board of directors.

Christina Seminack, B.S.N. 1997, and Christopher Fasano, B.A. 1998, were married on Sept. 18, 2009, in Philadelphia. More than one dozen CUA alumni were in attendance.

With a last name like "Locke," it seems only fitting that this month's CUA spotlight alumnus would find his life's work in a field that dealt with matters of classified information, government intelligence and global security. Over more than 30 years, Tom Locke, B.A. 1970, has forged a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation that allowed him to accomplish exactly that.
